A style for the week
Braids
French, Dutch and fishtail braids, from a single plait to a crown.
A braid keeps hair off your face and out of the way for a few days. Jeannette sets the tension to suit your scalp and your plans, whether it's a game, a trip or a Tuesday.
How it goes
Pick the braid from your photo, and say how long you want it to last.
Brush out the hair and divide it into even sections.
Braid from the crown, keeping it snug but never pulling.
Finish the ends, smooth the flyaways and talk through sleeping in it.

Good to know
What to know before a braid
Dry hair, a day or two old
Braids grip better on hair that isn't freshly washed. Come with dry hair.
Say if it pulls
Tell Jeannette if anything feels tight, and she'll loosen it while you're in the chair.
Sleeping in it
A loose scarf or a bonnet keeps a braid neat for days. Jeannette shows you how she wraps it.
